Cosmic
The Cosmic team has demonstrated that by measuring the absorption of cosmic rays in the soil, it is possible to monitor the moisture in the soil itself, thus finding water leaks. In addition, the instrument is equipped with a positioner and satellite navigation, exploiting information from the Galileo satellite constellation.

Webb Opens Treasure ChestNASA / Aug 21, 2026NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope captured this Aug. 6, 2026, infrared image of part of the Carina Nebula, a star-forming region also home to the Cosmic Cliffs. This feature, called the “Treasure Chest,” is an object known as a cometary globule. A cometary globule is an isolated cloud of gas and dust with a dense, […]NASA Telescopes Create Colorful ‘Craft’ From Nearby NebulaNASA / Aug 11, 2026Like a collage made of layered sheets of colored cellophane, a vibrant new image layers observations of a famous star-forming nebula from NASA space telescopes. The resulting cosmic “craft” reveals new details about the star formation region known as 30 Doradus, or the Tarantula Nebula. Located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small neighbor galaxy […]Educators & Teens Get Hands-On With TEMPO Data to Help Investigate Local Air QualityNASA / Aug 6, 2026The NASA Science Activation Program’s Cosmic Storytelling with NASA Data (CosmicDS) project, led by Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, works to bring authentic NASA data into the hands of educators and learners. From July 27–29, 2026, the CosmicDS team partnered with the Smithsonian Institution’s BEST AQI (Breathing Easier: Supporting Teen Air Quality Investigations) project to […]Starburst Galaxy Centaurus ANASA / Jul 30, 2026In this July 6, 2026, image, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope’s Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) reveals the nearby galaxy Centaurus A, exposing the dusty structures and hidden activity that shape this unusual system. Centaurus A is 11 million light-years away from Earth, relatively close in cosmic terms. Yet, unlike most nearby galaxies, it is very active, […]
